I’ve been thinking about it, and honestly, I can see arguments both ways.
Potential benefits: * Might take emotionally unavailable or misogynistic men out of the dating pool (guys who want a fantasy partner instead of a real relationship). * Could take pressure off women to constantly meet impossible sexual/emotional expectations. * Some apps (like Nectar AI and similar ones) are starting to promote healthier emotional dynamics instead of just fantasy fulfillment.
Potential harms: * Reinforces the idea that women should always be agreeable, available, and endlessly accommodating. * Risks creating warped expectations about relationships, consent, and emotional labor. * Could push some men deeper into misogyny if they start preferring AI “partners” over real women with autonomy.
What do you think about this? Are AI girlfriends ultimately a relief for women, or are they a threat?
