Additionally, the power users have given AI access to their password manager for coding, debugging. Access to their files and computers as a whole is something Claude advertises. Connections to their emails, calendar, text messages and multiple other apps via API. Trusting AI with personal health information (diagnosis, prescriptions)
In my AI usage I always use aliases, never disclose location, often portray as not me (someone asked me if...). I scrub any document from personal information. I don't have any AI chat bot linked to anything and use VPN and burner email before I use it. Am I overly panicked for privacy with AI?
The story about ChatGPT conversations appearing in Google search was horrifying and that feels like only the beginning. Isolated leaks aside, what happens when AI improves, generates a profile for you and sells it to malicious users or advertisers? Is there anything that could be done besides don't use it or unplug and go live in the woods with a flip phone type mentality?
