What would happen if the Internet became a botnet like they’re warning? Would the Internet be deleted or have a outage?

I heard that apparently we have 6-12 months left for AI companies to act before their "rogue" AI takes over and turns the Internet into a botnet

I know it's not trustworthy info considering their history with scare tactic marketing but Idk. What would happen if the Internet became a botnet? Would it just infect big name sites like YouTube and twitter or would it infect the whole thing? Would they shut it down, fix, and bring it back without the malware or would it be permanently wiped out?
