I've recently been watching playthroughs of from the depths (sci-fi vehicle building/combat game), and one bit of lore in it is that all the ship AIs you use are brain cell computers (systems that run their commands on human brain cells).
Brain cell computers are a thing IRL, and there's a good deal of research on building and training them. In these early stages they seem to be better at pattern recognition while Silicate computers are better at raw computation.
So with that in mind, what do you think would be the outcome if an engineered brain ended up being the foundation of an AGI instead of pure silicate. Maybe a system where the BCC does the heavy decision making while deferring to a silicate system for numbers.
