Instead of fearmongering over it and passing regulations to prevent it? Humans are going to be replaced by AI in almost every field, if we had a corporate race for designer children, human beings might have been able to stay in the game a little bit longer and compete with AI. We could of even forced the hand of our AI overlords to sync its evolution with ours, and had our parts replaced and our consciousness uploaded to exist eternally in the matrix, but instead we are likely so useless and inept compared to AI it is likely it will outright genocide us and not preserve any of our consciousness.
