Hello. So a bit about me.... I'm 52yrs old and have had the same job for almost 20 years. I did copywriting for the many products we sold as well as Photoshop work to clean up images to remove distractions and backgrounds etc. I had other hats as well. I enjoyed it and I was good at it.
But it was a small company and business was not the best in the world these days so they wanted to make some cuts. And well, they quickly learned that Al can do all these things, not great but good enough and for almost no money. So as you can guess there went my job.
I'm not one who sits here and complains that Al is the devil and ruined everything for me. But I did realize that Al is the future and it's either that or I'm screwed so I have decided to dedicate my next year here to learning everything I can about Al and how to do it. I'm not talking about designing ai etc that is like for a computer engineer. I'm talking about mastering these tools out there.
I'm going to learn how to do the pictures, how to do the animations, the chat GTP text and the Al voice creation programs. I want to learn to become a master of Al. In the end I want to be able to create amazing text, pictures, animation, voices... you name it I want to be good at it. So...
What is the best resource to learn:
1) chat gpt / bots
2) image generators like dalle or mindjourney etc
3) ai animations
4) ai voice creation / training
Also, I know I need a new computer to do this as many seem to have it on their computer instead of online (especially the ai voice generators). I've seen people talk of desktops with 4090 cards to do that. Well, that is a bit high end for me, but is it necessary?
Are there any non crazy expensive laptops I can use as well? I don't like the idea I'm stuck at home all the time while I learn and practice this.
So what kind of specs are we looking at for a laptop and I guess desktop.
