OpenAI just started rolling out a new "ChatGPT Health" tab for US users (18+) on Free, Plus, Pro, etc.

Basically, instead of you just copy-pasting your symptoms into a chat, you can now link it directly to Apple Health, hospital EHR systems, One Medical, and Function Health.

It can look at your lab results, meds, sleep, and workouts to help you make sense of trends or prep questions before you go see a doctor.

Key Features & Details:

  • Integrations: Connects directly with Apple Health, select hospital EHR systems, One Medical, and Function Health.
  • Capabilities: Analyzes authorized lab results, medications, sleep, and activity data to explain health trends and help prepare questions for doctor visits.
  • Privacy: OpenAI states that connected health data and related conversations will not be used to train base models or target ads.
  • Disclaimers: Strictly designed as an assistant, not a clinician—cannot diagnose, treat, or replace professional medical advice.

Honestly, moving from generic medical advice to a bot that actually knows your personal medical history feels like a pretty big shift.

On one hand, understanding vague lab results without waiting 3 weeks for a callback sounds great. On the other hand... giving OpenAI my full medical history feels kind of wild.

Are you guys opting in, or is this a hard pass for you?
