Is Artificial Intelligence worth learning if I plan to go into Computational Physics?

I'm currently in high school, and have a fair bit of programming experience. I want to expand my portfolio, ideally in the direction of Comp. Physics. I'm curious as to if AI has any relevance to the field. The only reason I don't go and do some Comp. Physics is a huge math barrier. I know that exists in AI, but I think I could probably self teach myself.

Any tips are appreciated!
