Seems like weather calculations ran into the limits of silicon already, and getting more or better equipment doesn't give the promised exponential explosion of intelligence, or we would have noticed by now. (At least via this LLM way they're all trying.)
Perhaps the limited known starting conditions in weather is like the limited dataset (the internet) for LLMs?
