i've been thinking about this a lot lately.
most AI memory today seems to work like:
“you like this”
“you told me this before”
“you work on this”
but i don't think that's what human memory really is.
our conversations, projects, decisions, mistakes, relationships, ideas and experiences all connect together. they create a history of how we became who we are.
so what if AI didn't just remember facts about you, but could understand your journey?
for example, imagine giving an AI access to years of your conversations, projects, notes and decisions.
instead of asking:
“what do you remember about me?”
you could ask:
“how have i changed over the last 3 years?”
“what patterns do you see in the decisions i've made?”
“why do you think my interests changed?”
“what ideas have i kept coming back to?”
that's the direction we're exploring with something we're building called innernet with my bros.
the idea is basically to create a persistent context layer for a person, where different parts of your history can stay connected over time.
i'm curious what other people think:
would you actually want an AI to understand your history this deeply, or would that feel like too much?
