| I built EchoVault, an app that interviews you about your life and turns the answers into an avatar your family can talk to after you die. In the clip I ask it the meaning of life, which I never covered in any session. It builds an answer out of separate conversations about my values. Then I ask my grandfather’s middle name and it stops. It doesn’t know, because I never told it, so it says so. Everyone in this category is chasing a convincing likeness. A convincing likeness that answers everything is a machine for inventing memories, and the person on the other end is grieving and can’t check. I shipped this architecture with the webapp in June 2025 and the rest of the category has since converged on it. The iOS app is out now. Text tier is free and unlimited, no card. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/echovault-digital-legacy/id6762042028 [link] [comments] |
