I see that both the lotr (Lord of the Rings) and lotrmeme subs have lots of character bots that engage with comments. You'd often find the bots replying to comments using a quote from the book or the movies, which fit the context of the thread. u/Gandalf-bot is one, for example. The Saruman bot even generates new comments, though I'm not interested in creating that kind.
I would like to make a character bot for a sub I'm in too, but I only have rudimentary coding knowledge. What AI model should I be using? How does the bot know which comments it should be responding to and the context? How does it select the appropriate quotes to reply?
