Dr Seuss vs Hemingway in LLMs

Interested to see what others discover running an experiment we tried n

We tired changing the “voice” of an LLM in the prompt. It is worth doing if you’re creating text for different audiences and different platforms.

The experiment we ran was this.

“Write a 50 word comparison of x and y, in the style of z.”

It is useful to compare two things which you are pretty sure never occurred in the training corpus. So, x and y might be icebergs and blast furnaces. But whatever you like.

For z (style) you might try

- associated press style guide

- Dr Seuss

- Hemingway

- Shakespearian sonnet

- 4th grade student
