Um, spoilers, I suppose.
Thinking about the scene where Nathan describes Ava’s brain as all information from Blue Book, his company’s search engine.
He speaks of how most companies thought search engines were a map of what people were thinking and sought to monetize via social media and shopping but how in reality, they were a map of how people were thinking.
This leads me to think of the idea that the reason ChatGPT uncannily works is because it goes beyond predictive context to discover the laws of logic that underlie language (Boolean gates (and, or, not, etc.) for instance)
There’s also the Jackson Pollock scene about this reinforced loop being the basis for “conscious becoming unconscious”.
Reading too much into it, I know, but I like the movie, so why not stimulate discussion if it exists.
