Hey everyone! Sorry for crossposting, I thought this would be relevant to a few subs and I'm pretty proud of it, feel free to remove if it's unwanted here.
I’ve been experimenting with ChatGPT to create a personal GPT therapist because I wanted something that felt like it actually “knew” me, not just a bot giving standard advice. Traditional therapy options have been pretty hard for me to access for all kinds of reasons, and I wanted something that could at least help me feel like I had consistent, reliable support of some kind instead of just toughing it out.
So, I made a guide that walks through the whole process—from filling out intake forms so it has context for you to setting up prompts and keeping session notes. This setup lets your GPT actually remember and refer to past sessions, track goals, and feel a little more like a real mental health tool instead of something generic.
Everything’s in a Google Drive folder here, including templates for intake forms, reflection logs, and detailed instructions for setting it up. I hope this is useful for someone else who could use the extra support.
If you have questions or end up trying it I’d love to hear how it works for others!
