I had one of those Saturday mornings where I had 25 tabs open, read 3 articles properly, and spent the rest of the time either skimming things too fast or copy-pasting them into ChatGPT to get the gist
So I built a tool in Chrome's sidebar that opens on any page and gives you a proper digest of what you just read. Works on news articles, Reddit threads, product reviews, research pieces. It detects the content type and structures the summary around that. After the summary questions can be asked directly in the sidebar. Still on the same page, no tab switching needed.
API costs are a real thing so running on free keys for now, which means there might be occasional delays depending on traffic. Added an option to plug in a personal Gemini API key, Google and ChatGPT gives them out for free and it takes 30 seconds to set up. Nothing is stored.
