Crowdfunding site BackerKit has announced a new policy that restricts the use of solely AI-generated content on its platform.
The policy aims to address concerns regarding ownership of content, ethical sourcing of data, and compensation for the process of creating content.
Projects that lack a minimum requirement of human input will not be allowed to crowdfund on the BackerKit site.
There is some flexibility with AI generative fill and the use of AI transcription services, but a high level of human input is required to satisfy the policy.
BackerKit will automatically exclude all content uploaded by creators for their projects from AI training in support of this policy.
The new restrictions will go into effect on October 4, giving creators time to alter their projects if they are using AI-generated images and text.
