Ive been anti AI from day one. Every since that one Will Smith spaghetti video it’s been incredibly clear the direction AI will take the world and not seeing that shows unbelievable lack of foresight and intelligence.
AI brings an ENORMOUS number of risks and, from what i can tell, absolutely zero benefit to anyone.
I have to make myself clear that I’m speaking of generative AI specifically and not the stuff they use to decode maths problems and medicine stuff. That algorithm stuff is pretty cool and has a purpose.
Cons
In the past a video was good evidence of something happening. this could be for court evidence or just to show someone something cool you saw. Now AI has made all video as proof obsolete
Some cretin decided AI art and music was a good idea without thinking what art and music‘s purpose actually is. A painting of a tree isn’t cool because it looks like a tree, it’s cool because someone did that with talent and intention.
People are constantly losing jobs to AI. Only for AI to do a subpar job most of the time.
Apparent pros
”it makes information accessible” it always was. We had Google. For free. Everything was already there
”Look at this cool thing I made” No you didn’t.
“it helps me write and think” strange way of admitting you’re incapable of thought yourself. Also you’re not writing, you’re asking for it to be done for you. You wrote that essay in the same way that I invented the lightbulb by pressing the on switch. I didn’t.
I despise AI and can’t understand the mind of someone who sees value in it. It is a 100% negative influence on the world. How can anyone possibly see any merit in its existence?
